Well. . . I have heard that summer is almost here. . .that means the end of spring, maybe at least for us southern belles. Let me be honest. This is my favorite peep show. I really, really want someone to own it and love it for themselves. So here is my proposal, starting now and ending um, how about. . .May 12 (husband’s 26 b-day) midnight, leave us a comment on this post and tell us why girls love spring and we will chose someone’s very best reason. That very lucky person will receive this very wonderful peepshow in a very thoughtfully put together package. Ok! we really want to hear from you! tell your friends! your mother! tell the girls! We love spring, but why!!!!! Oh yes. . .and take this shameless promotional giveaway opportunity to check out our other peep shows. . .
gentle spring breezes stir up notions, causing the dark-haired boys to whisper “i love you” oh so softly; that is why girls love spring.
dark-haired boys named cory?
yes, it was the end of april 4 years ago that he said those sweet little words. but other dark-haired boys too! not to me, of course, to other spring-loving girls.
that is when all the faeries come out.
Wearing birkenstocks instead of . . . birkenstocks with socks.
The kids playing at a sunshiney playground instead of . . . a Mcdonald’s indoor playground that makes me feel like I’m eating inside a gym sock.
Going outside at work with the girls on a smoke break . . . even though I don’t smoke.
The kiddos screaming at each new flower they find in the yard . . . especially the weeds.
Someone telling me . . . no no, you’re not that pale!
Dang, girl–it’s just now Spring here–what are you trying to do to me? Find Jon a job in Greenville and we’ll move down this summer!
girls love spring because winter can really wreck.
(this is reason #1 here in upstate illinois this year.)
girls love spring because magnolias and crocii and tulips are magic carpets on stilts.
girls love spring because that’s when we can ride our bikes again (which being interpreted is, that’s when we can eat donuts again).
The Tulip Trees in Bloom their fallen petals covering the ground. Warm sunshiney breezes that seem to blow the cold winter from my bones. The smell of grills being fired up for the first time in months. Shouts of glee from children cooped up too long as they run barefoot through the grass.
oh my goodness! you guys are good!!!!!!
Girls love spring because we can frolic gaily through meadows with our golden crowns, arms outstretched, reaching for the sun, twirling and dancing, before falling gently onto the carpet of blooms. Spring is bliss.

Girls love spring because they can nurture things and see results. (flowers. veggies, kids’ imaginations) Motherhood is a labor of love that takes a lifetime. So, the freshness of spring and the results that come from working in a garden and making a sunny, breezy house into a home represent the hope of things to come, and beauty and why doing what we do is not insignificant.
this girl loves spring because she can stare people down on the sidewalk behind her ginormous sunglasses; also, those kitty heels that make my ankles look sexy click clack on the sidewalk or melt into the gooey grass; also, my nearly-epic-proportions of hippie hair flutters around my face as the pollen flies in the orange bug’s windows and collects in a deep pile on the dashboard that i can finger doodle in.
Girls love spring because it reminds us that what is old and used becomes new and beautiful again. And, no matter how old we are, that thought makes us feel young. Spring is hope again.
We love spring becouse it is a reminder of all the life that God gives us. it is a chance to show my little one life in action.
